At what threshold would you claim on insurance?

Hi,

At what threshold would you claim on insurance? Our car was in an at fault incident where the damage to their car was around $1500 (damage negligible on our car), and our excess is $750. We have comprehensive and a no-claim bonus that I would like to protect, and also don't want our premiums going up because of a claim this small. All factors included, my insurance may only go up $100 or so per year, and my NCB might not be affected that much. So my question is, do I go through insurance, or pay it out in cash?
Please help.
